Jessica Simpson Fucks It Up Live
As if to prove the cruel country music fans who claim that she ain't no kinda country singer right, Jessica Simpson appeared on Good Morning America yesterday with the apparent intention of singing some country music.Things went wrong when the host turned the (live) show over to Jessica who shouldn't be trusted with anything live, including any young she might have.
Aside from the terribly messy performance (including a false start), there were some other elements of the show that made it abundantly clear just why country fans hate her so much.
First of all, the girl is actually faking a Southern accent, which is about as insensitive as going to a country in Asia and saying 'me so solly' to everyone you meet. Secondly, the first line of her song goes thus: "The real me is a Southern girl with her Levis on and an open heart..." Yep, there's nothing people like better than being stereotyped by brand names.
She should watch out, I hear in addition to slurring vowels and wearing Levis Southerners are also quite partial to a good ol' fashioned lynching.
