Shakira Stops Child Labor

Shakira has made a pit stop in Chile to talk to the President about Chile´s plan to stop using child labour by 2010. How funny. It´s like the children are being treated like fossil fuels or something. You can´t switch off them too quickly, because then industry would grind to a halt, so instead they´re just going to try and phase out children from the labor force over the next four years.
Does that strike anyone else as fucked up and wrong?
Here´s hoping Shakira hit the president around the head with a heavily bejeweled handbag.
