According to Avril Lavigne, she didnt steal the Rubinoos song, in spite of the fact that hers sounds exactly like it in the chorus. That was the issue, but in attempting to clear her name, she managed to show that shes actually mentally challenged, saying “As humans we speak one language.” Uh, no Avril, no we dont, humans speak lots of languages, and if your song sounds just like someone elses song, then guess what, it is the same song.
Now sure, in context she was probably trying to say something about the universality of the language of music. But thats not what she said, and given her general approach to things, maybe she does think everyone speaks English.
“They claim that a small part of the lyrics are the same and are saying that I took these from them. I had never heard this song in my life and their claim is based on 5 words! All songs share similar lyrics and emotions. As humans we speak one language.”
Id get on her ass about the “all songs share similar lyrics” comment too, but Ive reached my retard limit today, so Ill just say this by way of example: “I love you” by Barney the Purple Dinosaur, and “Living Dead Girl” by Rob Zombie, very different lyrics. Id like to see a compilation that went something like “Living Dead Barney” but thats probably just wishful thinking and has nothing to do with anything.
