Kirsten Dunst gets burglarized
Kirsten Dunst parted unwillingly with some of her material possessions when people of a buglarous nature broke into her hotel room at the SoHo Grand Hotel (now there's some good publicity huh), and stole a whole bunch of her stuff including a $13,000 handbag, $2,500 cash, two digital cameras, and an iPod.
Actually that doesn't really sound worth the risk. It's not like you can flog a $13,000 bag on the street now is it? So pretty much all they got was a couple of cameras, an iPod and $2,500. Sure two and a half grand isn't bad money for a few minutes work, but if you're going to be hitting multi millionaires, you really should be coming away with more than that. I think there are homeless people who lose more when somebody takes their shopping cart.
The law is crawling all over this case too of course, which makes it even less worthwhile. They nabbed some guy, but the same security camera that showed Kirsten's stuff being stolen (apparently these cameras just record theft, there's no-one who watches them and I don't know, calls the police) also showed that he left the hotel with empty hands.
Essentially this sounds like crime battle between stupid and stupider. It's hot in NYC this time of year, so hopefully that $2,500 goes towards a lot of ice cream.
