People Love Britneys Old Crap
Britney's album may have bombed, but its been a pretty good year to buy Britney related paraphernalia. Over 34,000 Britney related items have been sold on Ebay alone this year, and include items such as disposable lighters, which seems like a super awesome piece of memorabilia to have. It's the sort of thing you'd accidentally throw into a fire and laugh as it exploded, before crying when you remember you paid two grand for it.
I don't know if it is sadder that people sell this stuff or buy this stuff. One assumes it isn't Britney flogging off her old socks and things, it's much more likely to be those friends of hers that she has following her around 24/7 and 'managing her career', a.k.a. fleecing her for all she's got.
Interestingly enough her album 'Blackout' only sold about 44,000 copies before it dropped off the charts, which means that only 11,000 or so more people thought that buying her album was a better idea than buying her used wigs or whatever they were flogging on Ebay. That's the sign of some quality music, folks.
