Besides just getting a baby from the place, Madonna is also becoming a citizen of Malawi. I guess that might help tidy up the whole international adoption scandal side of things that has been plaguing her ever since she bought baby David home. Malawi's deputy culture and tourism minister said: "We are proud as a country to be associated with such a mega star. She will have freedom of all cities here. She won't be bothered with issues like visas and other limitations."

I'm not sure that citizenship is really what Madonna was after however. She's probably disappointed that they're not putting up statues to her and worshiping her as a god.
